Çağrı Erdem is an interdisciplinary artist, and research fellow at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion (RITMO), University of Oslo, working with biosignal-driven interactive systems for computational music. He has a diverse background as a performer and composer in jazz, rock, electronic and electroacoustic music, and is the co-founder of A.I.D, an Istanbul-based non-profit organisation dedicated to experimental arts. His research focuses on the physiological processes in conjunction with the exerted effort in musical performance, and emphasises a phenomenological approach in the design of digital music instruments for augmented embodied performance. Çağrı keeps building wearable instruments, teaching guitar and ensemble classes, organising events and performing in various solo & collaborative projects around Turkey and Europe.
