about

Çağrı Erdem is an artist, music technologist and researcher specializing in improvised electroacoustic music and musical human-computer interaction. As a performer with an overarching question of how it would be possible for humans and machines to share musical agency in performing music, his Master's degree focused on developing new musical interfaces to extract body movements in the form of biosignals. As a PhD fellow with the RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion at the University of Oslo, he is expanding his research on human-machine interactions for music performance, focusing on embodied cognitive approaches to defining, developing and performing with artificial musical intelligence. Çağrı is also a co-founder and coordinator of A.I.D, an Istanbul-originated non-profit organization dedicated to experimental audio-visual arts.
